Captain Raymus Antilles was a skilled and respected officer in the service of the Royal House of Alderaan and, later, the Rebel Alliance. He was known for his calm demeanor and dedication to Princess Leia Organa.
Antilles served as captain of Leia's consular ship, the Tantive IV. He was instrumental in the ship's mission to deliver the stolen plans of the Death Star to Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tatooine.
His bravery was evident when Darth Vader and Imperial forces boarded the Tantive IV. Antilles attempted to defend the ship, but was quickly subdued. He was interrogated and, ultimately, killed by Darth Vader in a desperate attempt to discover the location of the Death Star plans and the Rebel base.
Though his appearance was brief, Captain Antilles played a crucial role in setting the events of the original Star Wars trilogy in motion, sacrificing himself to protect Leia and the Rebellion.
